The whole surrounding area is in a quiet natural environment and even though the city is close, you can feel away from it all.

The villa is located on the outskirts of Rethymno town in a totally private area, just outside the village Gallos.

The village was important during all the different historical periods of the island. The importance of the area in the Byzantine era is obvious as the visitor can see from the rebuilt ruins of the Byzantine Monastery of Saint Paul and Saint Peter.

In Gallos village where you can go on foot, you will find 2 mini markets and a great traditional tavern. Also an organised tennis court is located 600 meters away from the villa! 

More shops, seafront restaurants and supermarkets are only a couple of minutes away by car in the entrance of Rethymno town, called Koumpes area. Specifically in Rethymno centre there is a large variety of shops (supermarkets, fishmongers, butcher shops, bakeries,) as well as highly acclaimed restaurants, numerous cafes, pastry shops, ice cream shops and more. In Rethymno you may also visit the magnificent old town, the Venetian harbour,  the museum and the venetian castle “Fortezza” which is the trademark of the city.

Furthermore, the villa’s location provides a great base for making excursions around Crete as the main national road is only a couple of minutes away.
